The Journey to Life Love and Freedom Part 8 Prayer

The Journey to Life Love and Freedom Part Prayer to Surrender One's Life to God

I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me ... For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life (John 6: 37-40)

Now spend a few moments in silence, deep silence to reflect on the passage of Scripture above. Discard all thoughts and distractions. Reach down to the depths of your being, open up your spirit to be receptive to the inner workings of the Holy Spirit of God. Be consciously aware that God is now with you, that you are in his presence and that, wherever you are, you are on holy ground. If possible do this with one or two Christians as being a Christian is also being part of a community. If you do not have the possibility of the physical support of others ask that someone pray for you when you make your decision. If you have no one you may email us and we shall be with you spiritually. Whatever your situation please bear in mind that you are not alone, you will never be alone ever again: "I am with you always", said Jesus (Matthew 28:20). The Christian community is not just made up of those who are still alive on earth but is also made up of those who have already reached their eternal destination and they are also with you as you make this important decision.

I thank you and praise you dear Father for giving me the opportunity to discover your love and your mercy during these sessions. You have loved me and cared for me and want me to enter into your salvation through the merits of your son, Jesus Christ. I want to be reconciled to you, make my peace with you and live in your presence forever. I ask that you do for me what you have promised. You said that all those who invoke the name of your son will be saved. Jesus promised: "if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I am there among them.'(Matthew 18:20). Father hear my prayer I now offer to you.

Dear Father

Until now I have lived my life as I wanted doing my own will and not yours.
I have sinned much against you and against others.
I sincerely repent and want to forgive all those who have offended me.
I also ask forgiveness for all the times that I have I offended you.
Now I want to place my trust in you .
I want to accept you as my Lord and Saviour.

I thank you for having sent Jesus Christ to die for me to offer me salvation and eternal life.
I want to surrender my life to you. I want you to become Lord of my life. Help me to live for you, through the power of your Holy Spirit.
I ask you this in the name of your son Jesus Christ

I praise you and thank you dear Father because you are faithful to your word. You said that if we confess our sins you will forgive us and purify us. I want to walk in your company every day and live the joy of your presence. Amen.

This is the first step. The faith of the followers of Jesus was born in a community of believers, developed in a community of believers and is normally lived out in a community of believers.

The next step is to seek out a community near you. If you already know of a Christian community then let them know that you have decided to become a Christian. Make sure you join a legitimate Christian community and not some cult. If in doubt please contact us and we can advise you.

You will find precious help and support in your new community which will enable you to mature in your faith.
